Impasto Much?
Kansas City artist Olga Hotujac paints on location, modifies the canvas in the studio, and returns to the location for more work as needed. The result?
The above is a detail of Hotujac’s painting “Plaza, Kansas City.” “The brushstrokes I created with multiple layers,” says Hotujac. “I used brush and palette knife; the style is very close to impressionism, I think. It took me a couple of days to create this piece.”
